How the CardioNet Monitoring Service Works

How the CardioNet MOlhitoring Service Works

Welcome

Your physician has prescribed CardioNet monitoring, a special service used to rapidly diagnose patients who may have heart rhythm problems. It is important that you begin monitoring as soon as possible so you can be diagnosed and receive treatment when necessary.

This pamphlet provides you with an overview of the CardioNet monitoring device and service. We encourage you to review this information before you begin monitoring.

Getting Started

After we receive your prescription from your health care provider, we verify your insurance coverage and call you to arrange the delivery of your monitoring equipment. Once you have received the equipment, specially trained representatives are available to instruct you on how to use the CardioNet system and answer any questions you may have.

If you think you may have missed our call, contact CardioNet at 1-866-426-4404. If you have received a message from us, please return our call as soon as possible.

Your health care provider sends a prescription for CardioNet monitoring.Once we receive your prescription, we verify your Insurance coverage and call you to arrange the delivery of your monitoring equipment.
Upon receipt of your equipment, our specially trained representatives will thoroughly instruct you on how to use the CardioNet system. While you are on service, you wear a sensor that detects your heartbeats and wirelessly transmits them to the monitor.
The CardioNet monitor analyzes each heart beat, detects arrhythmias and sends each event to the CardioNet monitoring center. Events are sent either by using the monitor's built-in cellular modem or by using your home telephone connection.
Certified Monitoring Specialists assess your events and report results to your doctor.A diagnosis is made and treatment is prescribed when necessary.

We ask that you return your equipment the day after monitoring is complete.
